Purpose of this document
Couriers must comply with the policy terms otherwise the insurance cover may be invalidated leading to potential personal liability for third party claims and criminal liability. This document provides important guidance on what couriers need to do to comply with the policy terms. It is not exhaustive so couriers must exercise their common sense.
The Hire and Reward top-up insurance Cover is provided by Aviva insurance to Relay at a cost of £2.75 per moped courier per day for last mile.
The hire & reward top-up insurance is provided to Relay Technologies Limited and you, as a courier, are not a policy holder under this policy. The cover provided is conditional on the vehicle being used having adequate motor insurance in place.
What drivers are not covered?
You signed a declaration at the outset which confirmed that none of the circumstances below apply to you. If there is any change to this, you must inform Relay immediately.
Please note: Couriers which have stopped working with Relay or have been off-boarded will fall under point 10 and won’t have insurance cover.
If you fail a drug or alcohol test (or fail to submit to a test) you should not be driving for Relay and won’t have cover.
A change in material circumstances must be notified immediately
Material circumstances are any circumstances that insurers could feel is relevant to providing you with cover under the Relay policy. Insurers want to know about material circumstances as they relate to the risk of providing the insurance and may affect whether they agree to provide or continue to provide cover to you.
Some examples of material circumstances:
- If any of the circumstances at points 1-10 above change, then this is a material circumstance
- Special or unusual facts about you or your vehicle
- Any particular concerns you had when seeking the cover
- Any change in use of your vehicle
- Changes to vehicle performance (NB vehicles that are not roadworthy/in compliance with all applicable law won’t be covered by the policy)
Please report any change in material circumstances to your Relay manager immediately.
