For the security of your account, all couriers are required to verify their identity in the Relay Copilot app using a valid form of identification.
For new couriers: you must do this to unlock your Copilot account and book routes.
For existing couriers: you must do this as soon as possible to avoid losing access to booking routes.
How will my ID be verified?
We use Onfido, a trusted identity verification provider, to securely check your document. This process includes:
- Scanning your ID to confirm authenticity.
- Taking a live selfie to match your face with the ID photo.
What forms of ID are accepted?
- Passport
- Driving Licence
- Asylum Registration Card
- Residence Permit Card
- Visa

⚠️ Important:
- If you have a British or Irish passport, you must use it to verify your identity.
- If you don’t have one, you can use another passport or photo ID, but you’ll also need to upload a Right to Work share code to verify your eligibility to work in the UK.
- Travel documents cannot be used as proof of identity or right to work.
📱 How to complete the identity verification
- Tap the ‘Complete ID Verification’ banner in the Copilot app.
- Select your ID document type and issuing country.
- Position your document and upload a clear, well-lit photo.
- Record a video selfie - turn your head slowly to both sides.
- That’s it! ✅ You’re all set and can continue using the Copilot app.
