We’ve introduced a new shift type: On Call Shifts – designed for flexibility, reliability, and guaranteed pay.
What is an On Call Shift?
An On Call Shift means you’re available to be called in if needed.
You’re not guaranteed to drive — but you must be ready in case you are contacted.
How does it work?
- You’ll be on standby from 5:00 AM until 7:30 AM
- If we call you, you must arrive at the depot within 1 hour
- If you’re not called, you still get paid £120 flat pay
How much do I get paid?
- £120 flat if not called in to complete a route
- Full shift pay if you called to come in to complete a route
Where do I go for this shift?
Start and end location:
If you are called to come in to complete a route, you will start as usual from the depot:
- Unit 10 Osier Dr, Nottingham NG15 0DS
What happens if I don’t answer or arrive late?
- No response to a call:
• Counted as a no-show
• 2 strikes + 1-week suspension (as per attendance policy) - Arriving late (after 1 hour of call) =
• Counted as late for shift
• 1 strike
Can I book more than one On Call Shift?
Yes — in fact, to qualify for Priority+, you must complete 2 or more On Call shifts per month.
Where do I find these shifts?
On Call Shifts appear in When I Work like regular shifts but are labeled: “On Call NG15”
Do I need to do anything special to prepare?
- Be awake, ready, and reachable from 5:00AM to 7:30 AM
- Keep your phone on loud
- Be ready to leave and arrive to the depot within 1 hour of being contacted
- Treat it like a real shift — you're expected to show up if called
What if I’m not called in?
That’s OK! You’ll still receive the £120 flat rate — thanks for staying ready.
